Teacher Introduction

This WebQuest is designed to accompany the Peace Corps Challenge Game, giving students opportunities to learn about the the global issue of inequity in educational opportunities for girls. By participating in this WebQuest, students will view videos, slideshows, and read narratives to gain a better understanding of the issue. Students will articulate why it is important to educate girls, the educational barriers girls are facing in the real world, and examples of how communities around the world are finding ways to provide educational opportunities for girls.

Students will then play the role of a Peace Corps Volunteer by playing the Peace Corps Challenge game. Through the game, students will be introduced to concepts such as: understanding the perspectives of others, problem solving, interpreting cultural differences, the importance of compromise, and considering community input.
