Return to Water in Africa

Senegal has a brief rainy season of three to four months. As a result, most of the country is arid. There are deserts in the north, plains and peanut fields in the central region, and dense forests in the south. Fishing is a major source of income for Senegalese who live along the coast. One of the most common dishes throughout Senegal is "ceeb u jenn," rice and fish.
