Return to Water in Africa

Madagascar is a microcosm of the world on an island about the size of California. Geographically, it consists of a narrow coastal plain, a high plateau, rain forests, and mountains. The climate is tropical along the coast, temperate inland, and arid in the south. Because of its biodiversity, conservationists consider Madagascar to be extremely important.
