Return to Water in Africa

Seventeen-year-old Marie-Jose has just uprooted a cassava plant and is cutting off the tubers. She will replant the stalk in the hole she has made. Throughout the year women collect cassava tubers from their plantations to make batons of manioc to be eaten by their families or sold in town.
