Return to Water in Africa

Jacqueline Omgba, with her child on her back, is cutting and peeling manioc, also called cassava. Cassava is the staple food in Eastern Cameroon. It is soaked for three days, peeled, dried, ground, and mixed with boiling water to make a dough that is eaten with sauce.
